The people in the Enlightenment object to absolute power because many thinkers lived during the Enlightenment, they talked about many new ideas and the people-government relationship. The thinkers had new ideas about people's rights, questioned past beliefs and ideas, used reason to slove human problems, wanted to end all the unfair things in society. - Explain one of the British acts that created economic discontent amongst the American colonists. The colonists were not happy with Britain's economic policy. Britain got cheap raw materials and a big market for her goods from the 13 Colonies.Yet she did not let them produce things thet would compete with her goods. To the colonists, such a policy was not fair. They wanted to trade freely.
